The Proposed Refund Policy Should Clearly Establish

As specified in the LSB25 portal document, a complete written refund policy covers the following elements before payment or engagement.

01

Eligible fee

Identify the specific service or coordination fee covered by the policy.

02

Refund trigger

Define whether eligibility is assessed after file disposal, conclusion of the service or another specified event.

03

Refund calculation

State the formula, applicable percentage, deductions and maximum amount.

04

Exclusions

Clarify treatment of court fees, government charges, third-party expenses and professional fees where legally permissible.

05

Application process

Specify documents required, the review process and a defined processing period. Provide written terms to the client before payment or engagement.

Important clarification

Disposal of a case does not itself establish an automatic entitlement to a refund. The outcome, calculation and exceptions must follow the written policy and applicable law. No favourable judgment or specific legal result is guaranteed.
